After 17 years of traveling back and forth to Europe I had finally completed my 20th workcamp. Given the variety of places where they had taken place, the various types of work I completed, and the array of people I came in contact with, there is no denying that some camps were more worthwhile than others. Of them all, Theaterflucht 2010 was definitely among the best I have taken part. This was largely thanks to the wonderful people who I work alongside during the summer of 2010 and who I am honored to portray in this album. Thank you all for an unforgettable experience and I looking forward to meeting you again in the future.

The summer of 2010 proved to be a wonderful for getting to know new people from different parts of the world. I am thankful for having lived and worked with my fellow volunteers during the Kinderstadt project in Görlitz, Germany. This album (though still in the making) is a tribute to them and our time together.

The tea ceremony persists as one of the most evocative symbols of Japan. Originally a pastime of elite warriors in premodern society, it was later recast as an emblem of the modern Japanese state, only to be transformed again into its current incarnation, largely the hobby of middle-class housewives...

A collection of close up head shots and portraits of total strangers on the streets. They all very from different nationalities and speak different languages but one thing that they all have in common is the fact that one way or the other, they're all involved in hard manual labour of some sort and they all work under the sun in harsh conditions, and it shows on their faces.

For close up like these I always ask for permission first and most of the time I get asked "Why do you wanna take a photo of me?" my answer is alway "You have a fascinating face", which doesn't really help the situation coz it makes 'em feel embarrassed and self conscious!

I'm fascinated by all these weathered faces and although i'm sure they won't agree with me, I think they're absolutely beautiful.
