When heading into the mountains, be prepared for anything—even if you’ve checked the weather forecast. The weather can change very quickly.
We were in the Alpstein region. Thunderstorms and rain had been forecast for late afternoon. By 11 a.m., however, we were standing in wind and rain—fortunately with rain gear and sweaters in our backpacks.

Mountains that simply impress and a view that is more than beautiful.
This hike was simply breathtaking and well worth the effort. Yet again, it became clear just how important planning is—and how quickly mountain weather can change. Packing rain pants and a jacket certainly wasn't a waste of time.
It is always crucial to plan carefully and keep a constant eye on the weather radar! What held true the day before might no longer be accurate—especially in summer, when there is a risk of thunderstorms.
The hike took me from the Linth Valley, via the Muttsee Hut, to the Kistenpass Hut.

It’s been quiet for a long time, but I’ve still been out and about in beautiful Switzerland every now and then. Here, for example, is a view of the Rhine Gorge. Since I live by the Rhine, I always find it fascinating and exciting to see where it comes from.

Hello everyone

It's very important that you take signs and barriers in the mountains seriously. If a trail is closed, there's a reason for it.

I was helping out on an alpine pasture this weekend. We were clearing the meadows of stones, branches, and other debris. In the process, we also pushed stones and roots down the mountain. Some of them rolled quite far down the slope, and you can't control their direction. The hiking trails were closed, and for good reason.

So be careful when you go hiking and take the barriers seriously.
