Stairways to Heaven by Jan Schick
A photography school architecture project.

Always good to remember what we are capable of.

Jan Schick Photography is also Architecture Photography.

Enjoy this incredible place located in Dornach, Solothurn, Switzerland: the Goetheanum. A place dedicated to Anthroposophy, art, philosophy, and the study of human consciousness.

Its architecture feels alive. Powerful. Sculptural. Speaking its own language: Goetheanism.

Even today, the Goetheanum remains one of Switzerland’s most unique cultural and architectural landmarks, attracting artists, thinkers, and visitors from around the world.

Experimental shoot with Mattia 🔴

For this series, I wanted to play with the juxtaposition of artificial and natural light, specifically using a saturated red light on the skin against the soft textures of a Swiss sunset.

This incredible spot is just a 10-minute walk uphill from my studio. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with Mattia; his calm and focused energy made the process seamless. Also, a huge thanks to my colleague Gabriel for capturing some fantastic behind-the-scenes footage.

𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁 # 2025

It’s been a while.

Testing some effects and lights in my studio. I got these colors all in-camera, using, of course, some techniques I learned during my time at photography school.

Photography doesn’t have to be boring. That’s why I push myself with creative portraits.

As humans, our creativity will keep producing art that stands apart from Artificial Intelligence - something everyone should be confident about.

For this shoot, besides some color gels, a snoot, and a flash, I used my Sony camera along with Dream FX Filters & Starburst FX Filters.

I love the moody, dark style.
