Honest post regarding the presence of children on social media and how I feel about sharing my work with portraits I take of you and your families. It’s not easy to just ignore the danger implications of posting and sharing our children on platforms like this one. I totally agree and understand families and parents who refuse to share their children faces and identities. I also find it hard to exist here and share my work within the family and portraits domain because yes my aim is to promote and show the world how lovely is to photograph your children and your families, at the same time I feel like the work I make with you and for you is YOURS and it’s meant to exists in YOUR family album. I always aim to respect your privacy and your choices as your photographer 📸 what is your opinion about sharing the family photos online ?

Thank you, everyone, for coming to the opening of the MLEKO exhibition at Maternité CHUV Lausanne, it was a great pleasure to have you there - it means a lot! MLEKO is my long-term visual project exploring the intricate nature of human milk. Through this work, I aim to raise awareness about the many facets and functions of breastfeeding. By combining photographs, mothers’ testimonies, scientific explanations, and artifacts from the Institute of Humanities in Medicine collections, the exhibition creates a space where these different perspectives resonate without enforcing a single interpretation.
Thanks to both and Canton de Vaud, as well as and for supporting the realization of this exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open to the public from 29.10.2024 to 30.09.2025.

Our September speaker is the amazingly talented photographer, ! 📸

Jagoda Wisniewska is a Polish female photographer, living and working in Switzerland since 2014. Her creative practice circulates around concepts of performativity, portraiture, as well as ideas of familiarity. Jagoda’s long-lasting fascination with the mother figure, the dynamics of the mother-child relationship, and its depiction through photography are her points of interest that she continues to explore and research through her artistic practices. She is deeply engaged with subjects around representation of feminine bodies, with a strong focus on the maternal body.

At Creative Mornings Lausanne, Jagoda will talk about her creative practice as a photographer, focusing on her latest project MLEKO. Jagoda will share her work about the ambiguities of the substance of human milk. She will talk about the importance of reflection in how we read and consume photography, but also how it helped her to work on subjects that touch upon intimate and public spheres of life.
