If I had to learn food photography in 30 days, here’s exactly what I’d focus on in Week 1.
Here are some simple steps I wish I knew when I started.
Most beginners think they need a better camera, more props, or a fancy kitchen… but the truth is:
you can take beautiful, professional-looking food photos with whatever you have right now. ✨
This week is all about building a strong foundation:
📱 Start with your phone
🌤 Shoot with natural window light
🚫 Turn off indoor lights
🎨 Pick ONE background to stay consistent
📐 Practice 3 simple angles
⏱ Spend just 5 minutes a day shooting your meals
Nothing fancy — just clean habits that create big results.
🎥 And if you want the full walkthrough, I just posted a new YouTube video breaking down EVERYTHING from Week 1 in detail.
You can find it on my channel https://youtu.be/UWlLX5FSWJE?si=prEI78R8nR3pBLGl
🎉 And a little announcement…
My brand-new 30-Day Food Photography Course launches in January and the first 30 spots will be completely free.
I can’t wait to share it with you.
