As the first golden light reaches the high peaks of Valais, a solitary Alpine ibex stands above a world of rock and glaciers.

A quiet encounter at sunrise, high in the mountains — when the landscape awakens and, for a few precious moments, everything is touched by gold.

A disappearing world. 🐑🏔️

Valais Blacknose sheep high in the Swiss Alps, surrounded by a landscape that has shaped this region for centuries.

But the glaciers behind them are retreating. With the intense heat of this summer, the transformation feels more visible than ever. Ice that took centuries to form is disappearing within our lifetime.

A beautiful scene — and at the same time, a reminder of how quickly the world around us is changing.

Another magical moment during the eclipse. 🌒🐄

What an experience. 🌒🐄🌳

The partial solar eclipse exactly where I had dreamed of capturing it: above the rolling hills of the Emmental, cows on the ridge and a solitary tree silhouetted against the sky.

Sometimes, planning, light, and that one fleeting moment simply come together perfectly. ✨
