The holiday season is HERE and I’m so excited. ❤️ Who else loves Christmas baking?! The sweets during this time of year is unlike any other.

Baking isn’t just for dessert time though—below is one of my favourite recipes to whip up for a holiday breakfast or brunch: Cranberry Orange Loaf. 🍊

It’s a fluffy loaf filled with freshly-squeezed orange juice and zest, deliciously tart cranberries and then smothered with a sweet orange glaze. Oh how I love it SO much!!

This is one of those recipes you don’t need to be an expert-baker for, it’s that easy!! Head to my fave grocery store, where you can get great value on amazing ingredients that are fresh, colourful, and inspiring!

Happy baking!!

Here is the second design I did for these autumn-themed cupcakes. ✨I absolutely love how it turned out! And the best thing is that it’s pretty simple once you get the hang of it. I definitely suggest practicing piping the leaves onto a sheet of parchment paper until you nail down the technique. 👍🏼

In case you’re new here, I designed these cupcakes for The , which is a national fundraiser in support of that helps fight food insecurity! I honestly feel like food is my love language—nothing says “I am thinking about you/I care about you” more than being given the gift of delicious food. This is why I’m so proud of the work The Big Social is doing across Canada. 💕

Check out my blog to read more deets about The Big Social and see the full tutorial on how you can make these cupcakes too! (Oh I also have a clip in my stories of how I piped these!)

Do you love giving or being given food/desserts as gifts too? Ahh its the BEST! 🥰

It’s that beautiful time for all-things fall, and that includes our baking! 🍂 I’m so excited—I’ve come up with 3 simple AND approachable ways to decorate autumn cupcakes this season.

From dark chocolate leaves, to a sprinkling of roasted pecans and a maple cinnamon glaze, to piped frosting leaves in beautiful fall colours, your cupcakes will look incredible!! 😍

This month I’m partnering with to promote The . The Big Social is a national event that brings people together around food to raise funds to fight food insecurity! ❤️

One way to do this is by making something delicious like these cupcakes and dropping them off to loved ones in exchange for donations. And you don’t have to do it alone, make these cupcakes with friends!

Check out my blog for a full tutorial (visuals and detailed descriptions) on how you can easily make these at home too, and to hear more about The Big Social and why it matters to me.

After checking out the post, let me know which of the 3 designs is your favourite! 🥰 I think mine is this dark chocolate leaf.

My husband’s Father’s Day gift was a brand new grill so we’ve been on a total grilled-food kick lately! Wouldn’t you agree that everything tastes SO much better on the grill? 🤤 I don’t even know how we went this long without one (especially when it means not having to turn the oven on inside).

One of our favourite things to grill is basically anything on a skewer. Although assembling the skewers can feel a bit tedious, it’s so worth it because it cooks super fast, tastes delicious, and is something fun/different to eat!

We LOVE these Lemon Dill Salmon Skewers made with fresh salmon, red onion, lemon, dill, and of course enjoyed with a generous drizzling of melted butter. ❤️

is where you can get great value on amazing ingredients that are fresh, colourful, inspiring (and often local)!

Are grilled skewers a summer staple in your household or have you never attempted them before? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Can I tell you a story that makes me SO happy? I’ll never forget it, in 2016 for the very first time I shared a photo to Facebook of some cupcakes I had decorated in an effort to give them away for free!⁣

To give a little background: we were living in the US at the time, and I was post-culinary school, working my not-so-dream-job-but-pays-the-bills as a prep cook.⁣ 👩🏼‍🍳

All I wanted was to be a baker, so I took matters into my own hands. I purchased a set of piping tips/bags, turned on a YouTube tutorial and practiced my cake decorating skills in our apartment.⁣

I remember being so nervous about the post—what if none of my friends wanted them?! How awkward and embarrassing! Despite my fears, I hit the publish button and the cupcakes all quickly found loving homes!⁣

I will never EVER forget all the countless words of encouragement from everyone. Even now I can look back on that post and still feel the love from you guys (you know who you are!!).⁣😭💕

Fast forward to today in 2020, I just wrapped up two cake orders this last week! Within these four years I’ve baked desserts for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, and holidays, and more! (I've also made a few flops along the way--let's not talk about it, HA.)⁣ 😅

I found my love for food photography and sharing all of these photos with you guys has landed me some incredible collaborations and partnerships with amazing brands.⁣

But most importantly, I’ve made so many wonderful friends through this baking/food photography community on Instagram. ❤️ You guys are amazing and your talent inspires me like crazy!!⁣

So with that said: Hi! I’m Jennifer, and I live near Winnipeg, MB, Canada!⁣ 🇨🇦

Can you tell me in the comments below these two things: 1) Where you’re from and 2) What your relationship with baking is at the moment?⁣

Thank you! Can’t wait to hear from you! 🥰💕 @ Winnipeg, Manitoba
