A Young Osprey spreads it's wings

This young Osprey was stretching out it's wings and showing off it's rather colorful feathers, giving me a treat I had not witnessed before. I managed to catch one great photo as well, having caught this raptors gaze and I got those eyes just locked on to me.

Buckalope!

I spotted Buckalope again, a male Deer that looks like an Antelope, so I named him Buckalope.

5am and I woke the Cows up

Follow the Lens - I like to get up nice and early most days and get out the door before the sun comes up, however with all our recent smoke, it's staying completely dark until the Sun completely breaks the horizon. So on this particular day my headlights woke up this group of Cows sleeping at the side of the road. Just another crazy day in the Cariboo.

Cooling off in the rain

Follow the Lens - A couple of Rock Pigeons taking advantage of our recent weather and cooling of a little. It's been one of those summers in the Cariboo, too hot, too cold at night and smokey of course... it's surprising when an August rain fall becomes better then the Sun.

Our resident Woodpecker is Back

Follow the Lens - The Woodpecker family that we've seen around so much this summer, hasn't been around very much in the last couple of weeks. It could be all the smoke, but my theory is that they were off training their little one what kinds of wood to peck, and where and when. They seem to be coming back around now, although not as frequently as they were.

A Buckalope? - A Deer that looks like an Antelope

Follow the Lens - This young Bucks antlers keep making me think that he looks a little like an antelope, which would make him a Buckalope wouldn't it? Well, either way he is a skittish fellow and it's been a little difficult to get photos and video of him, but patience pays off and here he is... an unofficial Buckalope.

Dropping Merlins

Follow the Lens - We've had a Set of Merlins teaching their little one, who is as big as they are, to hunt. Resulting in Merlins dropping from the power lines on to unsuspecting prey.
