Aleah - 8x10 Tintype

What I love most about tintypes is how they slow everything down. They ask both photographer and subject to be fully present. The result isn’t just a picture, it’s a one-of-a-kind piece of history in silver and light.

Looking forward to pushing myself out of the studio and creating landscapes with the process.

2017 was a pretty memorable year. Worst wild fire season I had ever witnessed. It affected so many friends and family and If I remember correctly, the evacuation lasted almost a month. We lived in Prince George until we were allowed to return. Upon returning, curiosity brought and I out west to explore some of the aftermath and we ran in to a few friendly folk along the way. We found Rodney dip netting in the Cariboo River and had caught four fish by the time we got there. The smoke was still very heavy in the area.

Unfortunately I don't fit in a nice and tidy box, I enjoy a wide variety of formats and technologies from the past and present. We'll start this page off with a nice 8x10 tintype of Cailey.
