Am I good at drawing? No, I'm fu***ng rubbish. Lol.

But it's nice therapy.

I'm drawing with actual drawing pencils. I don't even know what the difference between them is. Hardness. What's the difference between 2B and 5B? 5H? Lord only knows. Lol.

Anyway, for what it's worth, this was drawn with a 5B. I'm working on figuring out anatomy. Obviously. Lol.

Having a really challenging week with my mental health, and I've been sitting on this poem for a while, so I figured why not share it. Maybe someone else might feel seen.

My therapist asks me
what I think my life
would look like
with my lost loved ones
present in it

But how do you envision
existence in a world
where the best part
of what should have come
long since ripped
from your path

How do you envision
something
that never
stood
a chance
to become

Still a bit rough, but I thought I'd take a crack at one of the beautiful prompts that .fasano created in his even more beautiful book.

Thank you, Joseph. It felt good to create something more delicate.

LET

Let war become obsolete.

Let the gunfire cease and still. 

Let every filament of hope 

within me find its path 

and emerge once more 

into the world, winding 

slowly among ancient 

mangroves, descending 

towards the hearthstone 

of the earth.

I have a story I've never told:

Once, when I was free-falling

into despair, I looked up 

at the moonless night sky 

and saw the lungs of the Universe 

expand with a soft singing breath, 

and knew I was a soul wreathed 

in luminous starlight.

I still am a soul, 

wreathed in luminous 

starlight.
