Growing up I wanted to be a fiction writer. As I got older I started to realize the people around me had far more compelling stories than anything I could have ever created. Jaclyn and Alex are a perfect example of this. I am still in awe of their beautiful love story even after watching this film hundreds of times and am so grateful I got to play a part in telling it.

Also, can we talk about that Hora?!

Oh man. These two. This location. The fact the weather held out when it was calling for a storm. So many aspects of this day that were simply perfect. It's witnessing a love like these two have that reminds why it is such an honour to do what I do. Because honestly, what could be better than taking part in a day like this?

Lauren + Mitchell got married amongst the trees at the beautiful Bodega Ridge on Galiano Island. The weatherman called for rain, but these two were determined to have an outdoor ceremony, and thus, not a cloud filled the sky and they danced into the night, celebrating their joyous love.

There’s something so captivating about how every environment can foster a unique story to tell. Playing with elements and light to frame the couple and enhance each emotion. While I have to give props to Shari + Mike for the locations and Taylor Ritchie for being an awesome second shooter - It’s the couple and how they fill those spaces that take a simple frame and elevate it to a love story.

I have spent DAYS looking for music to use in a film before. How can we solve that problem? Oh you know, just bring an insanely talented artist from Nashville to come play at your wedding, who then let’s us use the song you walked down the aisle to.

In 2015, I went into a film program wanting to make documentaries. I didn’t know what any of it meant, I just knew I loved interviews and compelling stories.
What came out of that brief course was an appreciation for technology and how each piece acts as a pen for the author, a desire to help others find their voice and use my skills as a soapbox for them to stand upon, and a thirst to never stop learning, with a fear that I will simply never know enough.
