It was cloudy and raining when we got to Dead Horse Point State Park. Just when I was about to give up on the weather, the rain stopped for a short moment. The Gooseneck and the Colorado River looked calm and wide open—it was one of those views that makes you stop and just look.

Looking for a scenic campsite near Vancouver?

Pump Peak is about a 30–40 minute drive from Vancouver, located in Mount Seymour. It’s close enough for a simple overnight trip but still offers open mountain views and fresh air.

The hike is manageable, and once you’re at the top, you get wide views that make the effort worth it. Convenient, scenic, and easy to plan — perfect for a quick outdoor escape. 🏕️

It’s been raining nonstop for weeks here in Vancouver, but catching this view on a moody, cloudy day with a hint of sunset felt like a reward. First time at Whytecliff Park, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best and most accessible playgrounds for landscape photographers in Metro Vancouver.
