Celebrating Foster Moms: Downtown Nanaimo Portrait Session

This week, I had the pleasure of photographing another amazing Foster Mom as part of my ongoing work with the BC Foster Parents Association. We met in downtown Nanaimo on Wednesday for a relaxed and vibrant portrait session, making the most of the city’s colourful backdrops and unique character.

Foster parents like her open their hearts and homes, offering love, guidance, and stability to children who need it most. The BC Foster Parents Association plays a vital role in supporting these caregivers, advocating for their needs, and providing resources that help them continue the incredible work they do.

During our session, we laughed, explored, and captured her warm, compassionate spirit. It’s always inspiring to meet people who are truly making a difference, and I’m honoured to be able to highlight the faces and stories behind the foster care community.

Well About three weeks ago I was approached by a lovely woman who is on the Board for The BC Foster Parents Association and I am now taking portraits of foster families for their marketing so that they can raise awareness and celebrate fostering! I have so far met two lovely couples, one whom has been fostering for ten years and one who has fostered 89 kids over the last 20 years! I am so impressed and inspired by these amazing humans. I am looking forward to my adventure into this endeavour.
