From yesterday's Remembrance Day ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.

Spectators were not permitted at the ceremony due to COVID-19, but that didn't stop a small crowd from gathering behind the barriers across the street and paying respects as best they could.

“After the Islamic regime killed Navid Afkari, a hero, we are all heartbroken. We stand in solidarity not just with Navid Afkari. We have lots of Navid Afkaris who are brave political prisoners. We are here to stand with them, and we are here to call on Justin Trudeau: break your shameful silence.”

My latest coverage for The Post Millennial

"We are here to call on Justin Trudeau: break your shameful silence. Leaders from all parts of the world condemn this brutal act, and Justin Trudeau is silent. It’s not acceptable," an organizer said.

Poeople should always stand by their friends, and “cancel culture” wouldn’t be a thing if more people did just that. My canceled friends are amazing people and I will continue to fight for them. My latest for The Post Millennial

Victims of cancel culture rarely deserve the treatment they receive or the stigma they carry with them. Some of them are genuinely innocent, and many people learn from horrible mistakes.

Hi all! Sorry for having abandoned this Page. I will try to remember to be more active. For the past 6 months I have had the privilege of freelancing as a photojournalist and will be posting more from the events I attend. Here is a clip from yesterday of a Black Lives Matter march organized by Remember The 400 joining an End the Shutdown protest at Queen's Park in solidarity following an invitation by the latter group. Some have characterized the End the Shutdown protesters as a bunch of "far right extremists", which is incorrect. It was a wonderful sight to see everyone come together! From a Candlelight vigil in memorial of innocent brave Iranians held at Mel Lastman Square on December 26, 2019. 1500 people have been killed by the authoritarian regime, including those as young as 14 years old. The media continues to be silent or -- arguably worse -- completely misrepresent the cause. They are not fighting with their lives in protest of Trump's tariffs, they are fighting for basic human rights many of us take for granted such as the freedom of expression.

On November 23, Torontonians gathered at Mel Lastman Square to show support for the protesters in Iran. Thousands are known to have been arrested, and at least 200 killed. Their internet was cut by the authoritarian government in an effort to stifle communication. Western media and governments have been shamefully quiet.

The 300% fuel price increase which sparked recent protest was merely the straw that broke the camel’s back, with increasing unrest over the years being indicative of the growing gap between the people and the regime. The Iranian people want what many of us in the West take for granted: freedom and democracy. For example, while Westerners share imagery stating that “hijab means freedom”, women in Iran are imprisoned and flogged for protesting mandatory hijab.

I urge everyone to support the people Iran. The media and our governments may be silent, but we don't have to be.

I visited Yellowknife last month for "bucket list" reasons. Approaching -50C, it may have been a tad chilly that morning for a picnic, but at least you didn't need to bring a cooler!

Please score my design on Threadless! I originally painted this with Procreate on an iPad Pro 2.5 years ago, and unearthed it for the "Living Coral" colour-themed challenge on Threadless. As for the inspiration behind it: who better to invite to a tea party than a playful Princess Parrot?
