How to Officially Get Married in Ontario

You’ll need to obtain a marriage license to get officially married in Ontario. This can be done by visiting a local municipality in Ontario. There, you’ll pay a fee and provide proof of identification. A marriage license is valid for three months from the date of issue. An officiant (who’s legally permitted to do so) needs to perform the marriage and then send a completed and signed marriage license to ServiceOntario. After the officiant registers the marriage, you can request a marriage certificate. Lastly, Ontario requires that two witnesses, in addition to your officiant, be present for the ceremony.

Sunny and Kitty decided to have a Moraine Lake Banff Elopement at sunset and it was so romantic and beautiful. ⁣
They started with a reveal in the forest among the trees and Sunny’s expression when he saw Kitty for the first time was absolutely priceless and endearing.

They celebrated with champagne and donuts on the beach, listened to music and enjoyed the view where they were soon going to say their vows.

We started the short hike to get to that epic Moraine Lake view overlooking the blue alpine waters and see the iconic Valley of the Ten Peaks.

As the sun set they said their vows, exchanged rings and even had a chipmunk visitor attend their ceremony lolol

We concluded the day with their first dance on the shoreline before they headed to a delicious celebration dinner.

It was absolutely stunning and we had the place mostly to ourselves which was so amazing for such a popular location!

“I’m not even sure where to begin; these guys found the most beautiful spot to take our pictures, I couldn’t have asked for a better location!
