A quiet meeting point of history and landscape
📍 Fenelon Falls |
The Swing Railway Bridge carries the Victoria Rail Trail across the Trent–Severn Waterway right where the Fenelon River begins its course from Cameron Lake toward Sturgeon Lake. First built in 1876 for the Victoria Railway, the original fixed bridge was replaced in 1893–1894 by the swing bridge you see today.
From this vantage point, your eye is naturally drawn outward toward the open waters of Cameron Lake. Just beside it, Summerland Cottages adds a splash of colour, with bright lakeside cabins offering a relaxed base for boating, fishing, and peaceful stays along the shoreline.
Next post: the falls that gave Fenelon Falls its name.
