Dear Friends, Family, Co-workers, and Community Members:
We are reaching out with a heavy heart to share the news of an emergency medical situation facing Miki and Hemant. On April 7th, Miki, loving wife to Hemant, was rushed to the hospital with a severe debilitating migraine. It was determined that Miki had a brain bleed. It has been a very sudden and devastating situation for the family. Miki has been in the neuro ICU for over six weeks and continues to be monitored for her critical condition.
To make matters even more devastating and heartbreaking, several medical procedures were recently completed but there have been some major complications and Miki has endured a lot. The option for further invasive medical interventions would be too difficult for her to endure at this time.
Miki is under critical care in the Neurology Trauma unit in the ICU. With all the uncertainty of the outcome, there has been additional pressure. Hemant and Miki’s family have been at the hospital 24/7. As siblings, we have organized efforts to support Hemant and their children, ages 4 and 8, as we know they will require support facing the turbulent road ahead.
