Thank you South River Ranch (Kaitlin Knox) for the invite to your cutting clinic with NCHA Hall Of Fame horseman Doug Jordan a few weeks back!
I don’t get to shoot clinics often but I’m always thankful for the opportunity when I do. It’s a fun change of pace to take home new knowledge while documenting good horses and good horsemanship ✨

Proof of life/delivery timeline update after two very busy but successful show weekends and a *large* week of trying to play catch up while simultaneously recovering from a compounded horse show hangover:
- MQHA orders are starting to go out tonight - since I forgot to post a reminder, I'm extending the early bird 15% off discount until SATURDAY, August 15th at midnight. Circuit awards can still be ordered until August 18th at 11:59pm and this will be the final cutoff.
- Show orders are running a couple of days beyond my standard delivery time to allow me to prioritize and get caught up on my current backlog.
- Sessions are currently running 3-4 weeks on turnaround - I've left this weekend open intentionally to get myself up to speed and try to get this gap tightened up.

❕ These are unedited proofs for your viewing convenience, and are property of JJC. Please do not post screenshots of them on social media. This is my living, and image sales are what keeps the official photography business model alive.
🛒 Digitals & print products can be purchased through the online store. All digital purchases include both web size & high-resolution downloads. Accepted payment methods are credit/debit through PayPal or e-transfers to [email protected] using the “Pay Later” option at checkout. Orders will not be processed until paid in full (including tax).
✨ Standard editing (cropping, straightening, colour correction, minor distraction removal) is always included with your purchase. Advanced edits (ears forward, mouth closed, tail fixes) are available as an add-on for an additional fee. Don’t let the dark indoor photos scare you, my magic wand works pretty good!
💌 Digitals will be delivered in 1-5 business days and sent to the email provided in the order.
🏆 If you have chosen to claim a photo for a circuit champion prize, instructions to do so are on the voucher cards from the office. Please place all award orders by August 18th, the code will expire after this date. All circuit award orders will be verified with the official list.

Still alive, just out here surviving one of the busiest months of my life!
July kicked off with the most successful show I've ever had in my entire career (thank you thank you thank you!!), and the last couple of weekends have been a whirlwind with clients at the Coveside Show Series in Chester, a 3-day cutting clinic in Pictou, and a collective 8 portrait sessions between both trips.
The next two weekends aren't slowing down, with covering the MQHA Summer Sizzler this week and immediately putting on my horse show organizer hat for our reining show taking place the following weekend.
I am working hard to stay some semblance of caught up on work & messages and also take a little time to breathe in the middle of it all - it is a privilege to be overwhelmed by a life I used to only dream of and I thank you all for your patience during this time! 🫶🏻

I didn’t plan on opening these until later in the week, but since I’ve gotten so many messages asking, show reel bookings for the MQHA Summer Sizzler are now open 🩷

A few notes that I hope will be helpful for everyone going forward, especially if reels are as popular this time around!
1. As the official show photographer, my first responsibility is getting images of every exhibitor in every class. Shows move fast, and there are a lot of horses to cover! A rough idea of the classes you’ll be showing ahead of time is incredibly helpful so I can plan my video opportunities throughout the weekend. If there’s a particular class or moment you’d especially like included, please let me know in advance. While I’ll always do my best, coverage of specific classes can’t be 100% guaranteed.
2. Videos are processed completely separately from photos. Every clip is individually reviewed, trimmed, colour graded, stabilized or straightened where needed, and then edited together into your finished reel. While photo orders are often delivered within a few days of ordering, please allow up to 10–15 business days after the show for your reel to be delivered.
I wish I could clone myself (and having some help will likely be in the cards in the future!) but for now I’m one human behind the camera and computer.

I like to think creating great art is a lot like making great horses, both take time and a little bit of trusting the process to do right 🤍
