Once again, I was blessed to see a Red-throated Diver!

The Red-throated Diver (Red-throated Loon in North America) is a familiar sight around Longyearbyen, where it breeds on small tundra ponds and lakes during the short Arctic summer.

Male walruses can grow up to 12' long and up to 4,400 bls.!
Using zodiac-like boats helps you get low to the water level, making for a more intimate portrait.

I just returned from another amazing expedition to Svalbard and out to the Arctic pack ice.
Before heading out, I was greeted with one of my favourite subjects in Longyearbyen!
You can imagine my excitement when I saw this beautiful Arctic Fox in its summer colours once again this year.
