It never fails to amaze me at how much the game has given my family and I. We have made incredible memories and friendships hockey season after hockey season. First with Cole's years playing and now with Wyatt playing.

Yesterday was a heartbreaking result, but boy was it fun watching them play. Those boys were all hockey players this weekend and they sure took us on a great ride! Thank you to all the coaches for what you have taught the boys.

Cole I am extremely proud of how you have coached these boys over the years. You have stayed measured, focused on the kids, dedicated, and loving. Conversations we have had behind the scenes, whether it was about a player struggling mentally, or a situation that you found especially challenging, or something that happened that made you feel particularly proud (that happened a lot), showed just how much you care about and love these kids. Your approach of teaching and reinforcing the kids to be good people and explaining to them how closely that was related to being a good teammate was something that stood out to me. I don't think these players will soon forget you! I think having past players come and help coach the team with you the last couple seasons is a testament to that.

Wyatt, I am so proud of you and your teammates. I have watched you grow, make mistakes, learn from them, and stay positive. I know having your Dad as your coach is not always perfect, but I hope you know how lucky you both have been to share so much time together.

Jamie Henderson thank you for all you did with the Tbirds to make it possible for Cole to be with Wyatt over these past number of years. Thank you to you, Maggie and the boys. Terri Chitaroni thank you so much as well for stepping up this year. Laine Bertin, Riley and the boys we so appreciate you.

Wyatt, keep having fun, always remember this game owes you nothing, it will give you a lot as it already has. Keep working hard, be a good teammate, accept accountability, have fun, and don't forget to show thanks to everyone that supports you in any way along the road.

No matter how long you lace those skates up this is still the face I picture behind that cage.
