What an absolute HONOUR!

Being selected as a category winner for “things with wings” in the 2026 Canadian Geographic Wildlife Photography of the year contest is an absolute thrill and dream come true! Being recognized alongside so many amazing photographers is an honour and accomplishment I never dreamt of achieving.

Pretty cool that an insect photographed in my own backyard is what got me here.

Thanks so much Canadian Geographic for the opportunity to share my photo with the rest of Canada and a huge congratulations to all the photographers that submitted photos this year! The winning, runner ups, and honourable mention photos are all breathtaking!

Did you see any Perseid meteors?

It was one of the best meteor showers I’ve seen in a long time! There was an abundance of extremely bright meteors and several smoke show fireballs!

I was lucky enough to be up in Northern Saskatchewan at Jan Lake. Skies cleared that evening and even the mosquitoes took the night off! One for the memory bank!
