Meanwhile, comes this evening's update re. the Sinlahekin Fire in the Okanogan to the south of us. The wildfire hasn't crossed the border, but the smoke has. 🔥

I have to admit, I have never heard of the word 'hydronym' as mentioned in the post below. It means proper name of a body of water. 🙂💦

We are aware of the Sinlahekin wildfire that is continuing to burn south of the Canada-United States border. Smoke from this fire is currently visible from the south Okanangan and surrounding communities, however the fire has not crossed the border. Staff are continuing to monitor the progress of this fire and working with our counterparts at the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

Update Lipsett fire,

Peachland and West-Kelowna Fire departments where fast on the scene, plus aide from a helicopter.

They are making good progress.
