I walked out of a client’s home and saw their wedding VHS sitting in a box on the porch, completely filled with water.

This week I’ve been working on digitizing and preserving boxes of family photographs for a family affected by the recent flooding in Crystal Beach. Their home took on over four feet of water, and a lifetime of memories was suddenly at risk.

They did an incredible job acting quickly, sorting what they could, carefully drying photos, and freezing the rest to preserve them until we could assess everything properly.

As a photographer, I’m usually documenting memories as they’re being made, this week has been a reminder of how fragile the ones we already have can be.

My heart is with everyone dealing with the aftermath of the flooding right now. ❤️

When you get married at Ottawa city hall, you sometimes have to limit to the number of guests you can bring INTO the ceremony room. (note, this depends on your officiant sometimes they are super lenient!)

But here's a secret, your guests can still have a super fun moment with you and cheer you on when you exit your ceremony, just have them wait below the bridge! ;)

Summer has kicked off, and I deleted social media from my phone, AGAIN.

Between the end of school, a bachelorette party weekend, a week-long cottage vacation (where our well pump died!) and a relaxing lake house hang out .... social media has just taken the back burner.

Cat post ahead, scroll if you're a silly goose and hate cats or I guess maybe you have cat allergies and just don't care for cats? PLUS wedding photo for distraction since my stories are full of cats and golf, apparently the feed has to stay on brand.... ugh.

To kick off the most whirlwind week, last week our 18-year old orange cat was peeing blood. 🫠 (spoiler: went to the vet, $500 later, he is fine!) Turns out he is stressed out by , who for context, he already established his sassy dominance and has SLAPPED a few times sooooo she full on cowers away from him!!! He's on gabapentin living his best life with kidney food that he devours like it's fine dining (classic weird orange cat because most cats dislike kidney kibble!)
