We are officially into the last three months of 2026. It’s crazy to say that. But it’s true.

So many people complaining how the ‘year of the fire horse’ that they thought was going to be so epic really wasn’t. But then again some people just like to complain.

This has been truly one of my greatest years yet. For reasons I absolutely don’t feel a need to talk about on social media. Things are heading in a pretty cool direction. I’m excited for it all. And I’m excited to do it for me, and for my clients. Not for likes and shares on social media.

Sorry IG, I’m just not going to play that game here! What I’m building, well it can be done away from the eyes of Instagram.

I took these over a year ago.

And then they sat there.

Not because I didn’t love them, but because I don’t think I quite knew what to do with them yet. I’m could see a vision in my head but didn’t know how to get there.

I’ve decided to stop worrying quite so much about what a photograph should look like and figure out what I actually wanted mine to feel like.

Lately I’ve been finding my way back to shooting just because I want to. Chasing strange light. Letting things be dark. Letting the sun blow out the frame. Making something because the idea feels good, not because there’s a deliverable attached to it.

And funny enough, the more I let myself create without trying to force a direction, the clearer the direction seems to be getting.

Turns out these were already pointing me there.

They just had to wait a year for me to see it.

Scrolling through my photography folder, seeing how my style has developed over the last few months.

If you aren’t growing as an artist then you’re behind already.

Leaning into shadows, more softness, less contrast.

But it still feels like me.

I’ve taken a step back and am shooting because I love it. Not because I need to make a career out of it. And creating pieces I love and work that inspires me… that’s what it’s about.

I prefer the moments that are unplanned.
Maybe slightly out of focus.
The ones that make you feel something.

Photography isn’t about the perfect capture for me.
It’s about the real one.

A feeling.
A fleeting second.
A moment that makes you feel like you were there.

It’s not about f-stops and ISO.
It’s about that feeling you get when a photograph stops you in your tracks—and you can’t quite explain why.

Happy national day of the cowgirl.
I’ve been blessed to have many of these incredible women surrounding me, having me around to take photos, trusting me to capture the moment and just being my friend.

These women are strong, resilient and inspiring.

And they don’t call themselves cowgirls. This is one thing I’ve always noticed and appreciated. You know they are a cowgirl in their actions, their lifestyle and their demeanour. They never have to tell you they are a cowgirl and chances are they never will. Because they are simply themselves. Doing what they love. And that goes beyond a label

But still, I’m glad we have a day to celebrate them.
