Not my usual content but here we goooooo ♥️

Last Friday, I attended my first Grassroots Music Ranch event in Ormstown. We hosted one of their open mic nights at Livingstone Brewing last winter, but this was something else entirely.

The energy was incredible and attendance was abundant— people were literally pouring out the sides of the open barn doors.

It was the kind of event where you BYOB, the farm dog appeared on stage during the performance, a cat was running underneath people’s chairs, you could hear farm animals in the background, you parked where you could find a spot, and most importantly, the mentality that everyone is welcome (being able to bring my toddler was a huge bonus!).

It was the first cold evening of the season, but the warm energy and talent kept people there, under the starry night . It brought people together in a really beautiful way, and it left me feeling really proud.

Proud of the organization (because, yes, Grassroots Music Ranch officially became a non-profit organization earlier in the year!), but also proud of our little nook of the world. Proud of the talent that exists locally and of the ones who take a chance on performing in a barn on a back road where the driveway is 1km long.

It was my first event and I want to let you discover the talented musicians that take part of this project via the organization. So this is me encouraging you to follow Grassroots Music Ranch and play a little role in supporting the arts in our little corner of the world.

My wedding season has been so good to me this year 😮‍💨🔥

I haven’t posted much this summer because it’s been a busy one buuuut I’m loving everything on my editing screen these days ♥️

Barefooted baby, chicks in a crate, dogs off-leash, kids on the swings, a truck ride to the back fields, a special tree, dirt roads… Country sessions are where my heart is at 💛☀️
