How To Build a Playground brings together artists who use humour to navigate themes of social participation, media, memory, identity, family, and experimentation. Like the structures of a playground that present freedom while subtly shaping behaviour, inviting imagination, and enabling users to watch and be watched. As some jokes create new connections, others expose limitations. This show celebrates the complexities of humour and performance in visual art, allowing it to operate as entertainment, a coping mechanism, and a critical strategy.
