Looking Forward to a Fresh Start in January 2025
This morning, I received my January payment and promptly paid my rent in cash to my current roommate, Randall. While this marks the final stretch of my stay here, I’m focusing on the road ahead: finding a new home before February 1st, 2025.
The process starts with picking up my Christmas check, which is waiting for me at the Allan Memorial Hospital Social Worker’s office. I’ll need to schedule an appointment for that soon. Additionally, I have some extra funds expected to arrive by January 5th at the latest. Between this and the money I saved from December, I’ll be in a position to schedule visits and put down a deposit on a new place.
For now, I’m grateful for the bit of savings I have with TD Canada—it’s a foundation for the steps I’m about to take. Ideally, I’d love to secure my own place instead of navigating another roommate situation. I did my best to make things work here, but it’s clear that this arrangement wasn’t a fit. Going down the same road again feels like a gamble I’m not sure I want to take.
If necessary, I might reach out to Mark for support. Perhaps with some guidance, I can land a place of my own. This time, I’m determined to handle things independently—no family involved. After the year I’ve had, stepping away from that dynamic is not just necessary; it’s non-negotiable.
Stormy has been unwavering in their support and has seen firsthand the narcissistic abuse I endured from my family. They’ve made it clear they won’t allow me to fall back into that cycle, and I’m so grateful for their strength and insight.
Right now, Stormy is in the hospital for a mental health episode. They’re in the Psych Ward, but their hold is nearly over, and I can’t wait to hear their voice again. Knowing that they’ll soon be home is a light in the midst of everything.
Here’s to a fresh start, new possibilities, and a brighter chapter ahead. 🌟
