On peut argumenter tant qu’on veut pour savoir si le P-51 était le plus grand chasseur de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, mais le V12 Merlin de Rolls-Royce (ou Packard) est sans doute l’un des moteurs les plus légendaires de son époque. Avec ses 27 litres de cylindrée et près de 1 500 chevaux, il a donné des ailes à certains des avions les plus importants de la guerre en Europe.

Des avions comme celui-ci font partie de notre histoire et ont contribué à façonner le monde dans lequel on vit aujourd’hui.

One could argue that the P-51 was the greatest fighter of WWII, but the Rolls Royce (or Packard) Merlin V-12 probably stands alone as the most significant engine of its era. With a displacement of 27 liters, pushing up to 1490 horsepower, it powered some of the most important aircraft of the European theater.

Planes like this are important parts of history that have contributed to the shape of the world we live in today.

Details, or big picture?

A close up view of the aileron deflection at the apex of a vertical roll. Then back together in formation, diving down to show-center through a bright blue sky with smoke on! The Next Gen Eagles are a great team to watch!

Un gros plan des ailerons en pleine déflexion au sommet d’un tonneau vertical… puis les deux appareils qui replongent ensemble vers le show-center dans un ciel bleu avec la boucane sortie! Les Next Gen Eagles donnent vraiment un méchant beau show à regarder.

Out of the approximately 12,500 built, less than about fifteen F4U Corsairs are still regularly flying today. Seeing - and hearing - history like this is why I love what I get to do.

Sur les ~12 500 qui ont été construits, y’en reste moins d’une quinzaine de Vought F4U Corsair qui volent encore régulièrement aujourd’hui. Les voir — p*s les entendre — c’est exactement pour ça que j’aime faire ce que je fais.

Air Canada's Airbus A330 C-GEGP in "Fly the Flag" Olympic colours, on final into YUL Aéroport International Montréal-Trudeau (06L). Definitely a livery that stands out when it drops into YUL.
