The secret behind those giant cheeks! 🐿️😲

Ever wonder why Chipmunks look like they're about to explode? They aren't gaining weight they are packing for a trip!

Here are 3 facts about these little hoarders:

1️⃣ Built-in Grocery Bags: Their cheek pouches reach all the way back to their shoulders. The skin is super stretchy, allowing them to carry food to their burrow hands-free.

2️⃣ Maximum Load: Researchers have recorded a chipmunk carrying 70 sunflower seeds at one time!

3️⃣ It's Not Fat, It's Storage: They sleep a lot during winter, but they don't hibernate 100% of the time. They wake up every few days to snack on the stash they built using those cheeks. 💤🥜
