Touring Atlantic Canada to see the fall colours was a bucket list item for me.✔️
An enormous shout-out to my husband Dave. The sudden stops, U-turns, turn-arounds, back-ups, pull-offs, white-knuckled maneuvering, early morning (frost covered) risings, and the driving through rain, sleet, snow & fog he did during this 6,000+km trip was truly amazing. Thank-you.
We followed the St. Lawrence River up one side of Quebec, took ferries, drove the southwest side of New Brunswick, visited the southern coast of Nova Scotia, followed the northeastern coastline of New Brunswick, drove the entire coastline around the Gaspe Bay Peninsula, followed the opposite side of St. Lawrence River down and explored the southeastern section of Quebec before heading home.
We saw covered bridges, trestle bridges, walked suspension bridges, crossed foot bridges, and drove over many bridges. We sought out waterfalls, light houses, historic places of interests, wildlife tours, boat tours, light shows, beaches, lookouts, and boardwalks. We went up and down way (way) too many staircases! We headed down paved roads that turned into gravel roads, that turned into pothole alley, that turned into sketchy paths – only to have to turn back on some!
We saw wildlife galore. We talked to numerous tourists visiting Canada. We chatted with the locals & got great insights. We enjoyed seafood (ok, at least I did!). We visited provincial, national, and municipal parks.
We went to see the fall colors. What we saw and experienced was so much more than that. I said “wow” so much that’s it now part of my every day vocabulary.
Canada. 🇨🇦 Just simply wow. Oh Canada 🇨🇦
Here’s some more photos of our trip - I hope you enjoyed coming along for the ride.
