What a whirlwind of colour and movement, all wrapped up in a swirl of phenomenal vocal talent and great songs! Priscilla, Queen of the Desert the Musical sings out a message about tolerance, acceptance and love.It's playing now at Kelowna Actors Studio until August 16th. Without wanting to give too much away, here's a sneak peek at some of the incredible costumes. HUGE kudos to costume designer Hazel Rodgers for making this so deliciously over-the-top!

Ever year I find myself almost giddy when Kelowna Actors Studio asks me if I could shoot the dress rehearsal for their teen's production. It seems almost impossible to imagine these kids are teenagers, the depth of emotion they bring to their roles and the absolute make-my-hair-stand-on-end vocal fireworks! Seriously, the production of Carrie the Musical that I got to photograph Monday blew me away. HUGE kudos to these teens and to the incredible team at Kelowna Actors Studio for mentoring them to the point where they can perform at such an elite level. There are only a few more shows left and I'm pretty sure it sold out well in advance but you can check online at Kelowna Actors Studio dot com (all one word) to see if there is a stray ticket or two left. You won't be disappointed. WOW!!!!!!!!!

The show I've been most excited to see since Kelowna Actors Studio announced this season opened Wednesday night. Dear Evan Hansen is an incredible must-see musical that asks the question, when you look at someone, what do you see? So many of us in this world feel like we're not seen, that we don't matter. This show is proof that yes, in fact, we do. Now playing until June 28, this really is a must-see event. Here's a sampling of the shots I took during dress rehearsal. I seriously want to go back and see if again through both eyes with no camera in the way. Absolutely stellar cast. BRAVO!!!!! Tickets at kelownaactorsstudio dot com.

While most of you here of FB know me as a photographer, I am also an author. The Art of Getting Lost and Found is the story of two women over a one-week period in August, but 130 years apart. One is desperately trying to find her voice, the other has found it and knows she needs to get lost.

Absolutely loved the challenge of photographing this one! Kelowna Actors Studio director Randy Leslie took the classic musical Guys & Dolls outside the box and beyond the stage making it a more interactive experience. The triple-threat talent in this production is mind-blowing and I'd forgotten just how many songs there are that I love in this production. HUGE kudos to the entire cast and crew for pulling this one off and making it such a fun romp. The show runs until May 10 and tickets, if there are still some left, are available at the Kelowna Actors Studio dot com website.
