The show I've been most excited to see since Kelowna Actors Studio announced this season opened Wednesday night. Dear Evan Hansen is an incredible must-see musical that asks the question, when you look at someone, what do you see? So many of us in this world feel like we're not seen, that we don't matter. This show is proof that yes, in fact, we do. Now playing until June 28, this really is a must-see event. Here's a sampling of the shots I took during dress rehearsal. While most of you here of FB know me as a photographer, I am also an author. The Art of Getting Lost and Found is the story of two women over a one-week period in August, but 130 years apart. One is desperately trying to find her voice, the other has found it and knows she needs to get lost.

Absolutely loved the challenge of photographing this one! Kelowna Actors Studio director Randy Leslie took the classic musical Guys & Dolls outside the box and beyond the stage making it a more interactive experience. The triple-threat talent in this production is mind-blowing and I'd forgotten just how many songs there are that I love in this production. HUGE kudos to the entire cast and crew for pulling this one off and making it such a fun romp. The show runs until May 10 and tickets, if there are still some left, are available at the Kelowna Actors Studio dot com website.

What an honour, to get to photograph the dress rehearsal for the Canadian premiere of Pretty Woman the Musical at Kelowna Actors Studio. Apparently the show, which runs for the next three weeks, is completely sold out and when they added one extra bonus show, it sold out in 45 minutes!
The cast is truly phenomenal, the story similar to how I remember the original movie with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, the costumes are gorgeous, sets just enough to make it seem real and the dancing and singing absolutely top notch.
Here are some of my favourite shots from the night, without giving too much away.
HUGE kudos to director Randy Leslie and cast, and a billion curses to the amazing lighting team who create such incredible ambiance but make my job impossible at times--hahaha!

I have been privileged to include Kelowna Art Gallery as one of my clients for many years now. It's always so much fun to photograph the annual members show--so much talent!

I usually post right after the show opens but was deep into the final edits on my novel then had another photography job right after with Kelowna Art Gallery followed by a different writing deadline, so only getting to this now.
Kelowna Actors Studio is currently starting into week 2 of their run of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which runs until Dec 21st. I believe most of the shows are pretty much sold out but you can always try to find a ticket on their website at Kelowna Actors Studio dot com.
As always, they have an incredibly talented cast with some great dancing and fabulous vocals, bringing the Roald Dahl story to life.

Oh Sweeney Todd, what a crazy, dark, brilliant ride! Kelowna Actors Studio's production of Sweeney Todd opened Wednesday, Oct 15, with the incredibly talented Chad Abrahamson in the lead alongside the phenomenal Delphine Litke as Mrs Lovett. Glorious vocal talents abound in this production which runs for the next three weeks at KAS. Tickets are available on their website at KelownaActorsStudio dot com. Once again had the pleasure and privilege to photograph the dress rehearsal for Kelowna Actors Studio's latest production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. As always, the talent in the cast simply blew me away. From the seasoned professional actors right down to the littlest kid in the children's choir, it was a delight. Ever wonder how Harry Potter's kids turned out? I found out the answers when I shot the dress rehearsal Wednesday night! Kelowna Actors Studio is currently running their teen version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child where we get the next generation of kids, with Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. The show continues on this weekend with very limited tickets remaining. Showtimes are 1PM and 7:30PM today (Saturday July 19) and tomorrow. More info at Kelowna Actors Studio dot com
