We're very proud of a young LinkedIn filmmaker, Naina Baya (Stuti Billore), from India, for her fine doc on su***de awareness. She adds a unique viewpoint of the causes of su***de and many positive solutions.

Naina became a co-host of the Help Us Save Lives TV show and first approached me months ago with the concept of this video, after seeing the first one we produced on that topic. She wanted to showcase life in her home city of New Dehli, and around India, to educate people about the poverty and promise her country holds for the 1.5 billion people who call India home. Her message resonates with us all, no matter where we live!

Mint Nikon FE 35mm film camera, complete with matching SS-10 flash, which is automatically set to the Nkon body to calculate flash settings when set to AUTO.

The package also includes a mint 50mm AI-s f1.8 Series E "pancake" lens with an A-1 filter and Nikon cap, a Kiron 80-200 f4.5 Macro lens with cap, and a rare factory Nikon hard case with locking lens mounts and key!

The 50mm f1.8 Ai-S was reported to be one of the sharpest prime lenses Nikon made and had the same optic design as the much more expensive Nikkor lens.

The package also includes both French and English Nikon FE manuals and nylon camera strap.

The Nikon FE is an Aperture-priority camera with AUTO setting which chooses both aperture AND shutter speed. It has a match needle through the lens metering and exposure control.

I had a buyer write to me this week asking if I had a macro lens that fit his Nikon camera. He insisted it HAD to be a macro lens to get a 1:1 ratio! I told him ANY lens will work 1:1 IF you have the same distance in extension as the focal length, so essentially ALL lenses will work as a macro lens! For example, this photo above was taken with a 150mm lens WITH 150mm (six inches) of bellows attached. So, to answer his question, with extension tubes or bellows you can turn most if not all lenses into macro lenses! We have hundreds of lenses in stock that will do this for you so you can explore macro photography and filming like never before, whether you use film, digital, or cinema cameras!

Using Sufficient Depth of Field!

When filming bees, butterflies, birds, and insects that move around in the frame, as this one did while feeding on three different flowers, it is important to use sufficient depth of field. This Tri-colored bumblebee fed on all three of these flowers, flying from one to the other, so you need to also anticipate where they will go next. It is absolutely mandatory to KNOW which way your must turn your focus dial to move closer or further away! Some lenses vary; for example, Nikon and Pentax turn one way, other lenses the opposite to focus!

I use upwards of two-dozen lenses a week, so I memorize such sayings as "right up close" to remind me to turn the focus ring to the right to focus closer, to the left to focus further away. Whatever works for you, but practice it. You can see this happen on this video as the bumblebee moves closer and further away so I am constantly changing my focus point.

Many photographers and filmmakers strive for the shallow depth of field look but that is very hard to do with a manual focus lens! If you are using autofocus that is different. Here I am using the vintage Nikon Nikkor 300mm f2.8 EDIF manual focus lens set at f11 to ensure enough depth of field MOST of the time! It is nearly impossible to keep the subject in focus all the time but settings such as f8 through f16 will help a lot. Past that SO much is in focus it is distracting, and most lenses are optically sharp three to four stops from their wide-open aperture.
