Went down to Port Burwell yesterday evening after getting a tip from local resident Dave Jolly about some Ruddy Turnstones. Got my photos of the Turnstones and was lucky to get a Red Knot as well that was with them. Great day… thanks Dave! Nikon Z8, 600mm f4 FL.

In Carlton Place for a wedding recently and had some time to kill so of course went birding for a couple of hours. Found some nice fields containing a few Bobolink and Meadowlark but was only able to photograph the Bobolink due to time constraints.

I have found American Redstarts difficult to photograph as they are constantly moving… even more so than most warblers. These hyper little birds remind me of Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers and Kinglet’s which seem to never stop.

Blackpoll Warblers are one of the last spring migrants moving through Southern Ontario, which means they can be hard to see and photograph with the leaf-out. This singing male was kind enough to come down low to chase a hatch of mosquitoes and stop to sing for me.
