20 years ago I picked up my first camera.

For 20 years I’ve been operating under my name, Haley MacPhee Photography.

It feels divinely fitting to mark such a massive milestone with a realignment that reflects both my growth as a creator and honors the continuity: a deep, unwavering devotion to the light, to crafting honest imagery, and to capturing what is so beautifully fleeting with equal measures of gratitude and grief.

“Wist” is shorthand for Wisteria- a plant that blooms over and over for centuries. A symbol of patience, steadiness, and resilience.

I’m excited to meet you here, as Wist. 💫

It was around the same time Dave and I met that I begged my parents to take me to the first Cottars concert. I sat in middle rows promising to some day play fiddle like (spoiler: didn’t happen).

Over the years, Rose and I have stayed in each other’s orbit. She was one of Dad’s absolute favourite people to collaborate with on stage, and I carry his love for her incredible light and talent forward. She is remarkable.

As I perched on the edge of the stage at the album release, I had flashbacks to all of the times we’d share space- those music halls and venues, the green room at Celtic Colours and even in conversations carried out in rooms where she wasn’t present to hear the way so many people talk about her with a gorgeous degree of reverence.

I’m so proud of my friend Dave and I’m so proud of my friend Rose, and to see the music they create together is the kind of luck and gratitude I’ll carry with me forever. Thank you for bringing us your music. 💫
