Now booking for Summer ☀️
Personal Brand or Brand Visibility sessions.

What's the difference?

A Personal Brand session is a focused half-day photoshoot designed to give you a strategically planned gallery of images for your content, website, social platforms, speaking bios, and whatever else is asking you for “a photo of yourself” at the least convenient moment.

It’s a great fit when you’re ready for updated visuals that reflect your story, personality, expertise, and the way your business feels now. Not three versions ago.

A Brand Visibility session gives you two distinct half-day sessions within the same year.

This option is designed for business owners who want to stay visible with more consistency. You get fresh images across different seasons, and broader locations without trying to stretch one gallery across an entire year and hoping no one notices.

This is especially helpful if you’re launching, speaking, showing up more online, refreshing your website, or just ready to have a photo library that works harder across your marketing.

Here’s the simple version:

Personal Brand
One half-day session
A focused gallery for your content, platforms, and current projects
Great for a strong brand update

Brand Visibility
Two half-day sessions in the same year
More variety, seasonal freshness, and content flexibility
Great for staying visible and consistent as your business grows
Higher ROI

Either way, the goal is not just “nice photos.”

The goal is to create images that help your online presence reflect the experience, care, and credibility you already bring to your work.

If summer feels like the right time to refresh how you’re showing up, send me a message or book a easy conversation with me to talk it out.

Do you let your dandelions grow!?

Let the Dandelions Lead the Way: No Mow May 🌼

Thinking about holding off on the first mow of the season? No Mow May is more than just a break from yard work—it’s a vital lifeline for our early-season pollinators.

As the weather warms up, bees and other beneficial insects emerge hungry. Common "weeds" like dandelions and clover are often their very first sources of nectar and pollen. By leaving the lawn mower in the shed for a few extra weeks, you’re providing a backyard buffet that helps colonies build the strength they need for the summer ahead.

Why join in?

Boost Biodiversity: A little extra height in the grass creates a mini-ecosystem for local wildlife.
Support Hive Health: More forage means stronger, more resilient bee populations.
Save Time: Take those extra hours to enjoy the garden instead of grooming it!

If you aren’t ready to go full "wilderness," even leaving a small patch of wildflowers in a corner makes a massive difference.

Are you participating this year, or do you have a favourite pollinator-friendly flower popping up in your garden?

Can we have real girl talk for a minute?

I turned 56 last week, so trust me when I say I get the shifting skin, stiff hips, the unpredictable sleep, the brain fog that shows up uninvited in the middle of a sentence.

And the hesitation that happens when you think about having your photo taken. Wait until you feel more rested.
More yourself.
More ready.

I hear that a lot from women in this season of life, and I want you to know, you are so far from alone. Perimenopause and menopause have a sneaky way of making us want to hide until the storm passes.

And building a visible business while you are navigating all of that can feel like a tall order on the best days.

But here is what I keep coming back to. The woman you are waiting to become is already showing up for her clients, her family, and her business every single day.
She is wise.
She is experienced.
She is the real deal.
She deserves photos that prove it.

A good brand photographer is not there to fix you or filter you. Her job is to see the woman at the top of her game, with the experience and expertise to back it up, and make sure the camera sees her too.

I wrote a little something about this in a blog. If a brand session has been living on your "someday" list, this one is for you.

I recently shot a corporate milestone award ceremony for a company that tracks safe driving records and actually celebrates the people behind the wheel. Millions of miles. Zero incidents. That's worth a room full of people, and cake!

These are the events that remind us documentation isn't just logistics. It's how an organization says: this mattered, we have proof, and we value you.

This is what I love about . Thank you Loblaws for bringing me into your Maritime celebration.

A few phone camera settings most business owners do not know about, but and should.

Lock focus and exposure before you shoot.
On iPhone/Android: press and hold on your subject until the AE/AF lock appears.
Without this, the phone keeps adjusting as you move and the result is inconsistent.

Adjust brightness manually.
After locking focus, the sun icon on iPhone lets you slide the exposure up or down. Phones tend to overexpose bright backgrounds. Sliding it down often fixes what looks like a washed-out image.

Turn off digital zoom.
If you want to get closer, physically move closer. Digital zoom degrades quality. Optical zoom (the 2x or 3x lens on newer phones) is fine to use.

Shoot at the highest resolution.
iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible (also switches from heic to jpg) → Photo Mode (if availble)
Android: Camera → Settings → Picture Size → highest option.

Turn on gridlines.
Keeps horizons level. Helps you apply the rule of thirds. The result looks more considered.

None of this requires new equipment. It requires knowing the tool you already have.
