I’d write in my journal, on my notebooks, on scrap pieces of paper. I tried writing books, which if you ask me, were pretty good, just never went far enough. I wrote until one day, in a fit of being not good enough, I burned it all; threw it all away. Words now don’t come as easy. I can’t find them, but I know they are there. So I take pictures, hoping that maybe the words will come later. For mos
t of my life, the words and the pictures have been just for me, mostly because I didn’t feel they were good enough. Until now. I wouldn’t call myself a professional, because, simply, I’m not one. I am still and always will be learning, striving to be better. A picture is worth a thousand words and as a “non-professional” I want to begin capturing other people’s stories. I may be shy and lack self-confidence, but the only way to acquire confidence, is to do what you're afraid of and if you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.
