16x20 painting of a deer in a foggy forest. The frame is 20x24 but matted to 16x20. I didn't like the white matting so I mixed brown and gold and painted it. Looks so much better in person than in a pic. I included pics of the making of the painting, and the matting before I painted it

18x24 painting, winter peacock. I just finished it. I included pics of the making of this painting. I wanted to do an out-of-focus background for this one. By the end of the week it warms up a bit so I can varnish it; you cannot spray varnish in the house and temps have to be 3° above freezing to varnish; otherwise the varnish freezes. I had the frame; I painted it charcoal blue and added silver marbling with a sea sponge, then clear-coated it for protection.

My first attempt at painting a cardinal. Its 16x20 in size, with a black and gold floating frame. Always remember, paintings do not look the same in pics as they do in person; cameras make them look more cartoony/contrasty, etc, and the glare from indoor lighting doesnt help. When you look at the close-ups, you can see the very tiny snowflakes I added in. This one took me about 20 hours

As always, pics of a painting look worse than viewing in person, as cameras add unflattering contrast, and indoor lighting doesn't help (the indoor lighting gave it blotches of warmer yellow tone in the pics than what it actually is). My first attempt at painting a deer, and a winter scene in general. I put larger flakes with a big brush, then sprayed on smaller flakes. This is 16x20 in size

I painted the background of the one I'm doing of my husband's pic; while waiting for it to dry, I finished this painting for a dear friend of mine. Paintings always look better in person, and the little bit of snow in the trees is more prominent than in a pic... but I took some close-ups of the detail, including the stars. Tip: dollar store eyeshadow brushes make excellent brushes for creating fog (like I did at the base of the mountain, and used this technique to make the northern lights).

My two paintings are currently on display and for sale at the Goderich Co-Op Gallery for the month of June. My husband inspired these ❤ The first one I did with only black and white paint; my world is cold and colourless without him, but there's light at the end of the path. The second one was inspired by his love of the mountains. I did the clouds to look like lifted fog in the far background. I did these paintings on 16x20 black canvas and put painter's tape around the edges to create the frame. I'm still a beginner (these are only my 6th and 7th paintings), but I keep learning with each one I do. I'm obsessed with painting lately since I began in March, and have no idea where that obsession came from, but I'm just going along with it 🤷‍♀️

This painting took me a long time. I put subtle highlights in the rocks and you can see them when looking at the painting in person, but it doesnt show up in the pic; it would look fake if they were too bright. I got the wet sand smooth by watering down the acrylic paint then used a watercolor scrubber brush to blend. A lot of paint went into this so I will wait 2 weeks for it to cure before I varnish it

I took these pics earlier today of my niece while she, my brother, and my sister came over for a day on the beach. The 1st image was the one I was after!
