Paraphrase Productions Laura Froese is a family and wedding photographer, based on the West Coast of Canada, who has been capturing authentic moments and emotion for over 13 years.

She is also an international photography instructor and mama of three young boys. This page is a way for us to showcase some of our projects. Nicholas heads up the video side of our company as well as offering his services externally for production management and post-production work. Laura heads up the photography side of Paraphrase Productions offering photo shoots to individuals and fa

milies. To "paraphrase" is to express the meaning of something using different words. In our work, we seek to convey something that is intangible, like emotion, into something that people can see. We desire to seek out clarity and purpose in what we communicate by taking something that is stale and lifeless, and giving it emotion and story. In essence, paraphrasing it.

Another evening, another shoot! These last two weeks of August are a marathon between all of the family shoots before school starts combined with wedding season still going strong. I have 4 families and 5 weddings within a 2-week period. I had an amazing family shoot on Friday, a memorable wedding on Saturday, and this family last night on Monday. Now I have a couple days to edit, charge my gear, and rest before the next wedding on Wednesday, followed by another family I love on Thursday! Another day, another gallery! This week I edited 3 weddings, 2 families, and 1 event, in addition to shooting the weddings and one of the family sessions. Next week will be a little more chill as I'm only shooting one wedding, one family, and one engagement. With all the smoke coming in, I'm actually totally okay to be out there a little bit less. I don't mind it too much for photos, but my asthma has opinions on it.

I overestimated how many phone calls, zooms and emails I would have the Monday after I spent a week telling people I was on the island and then shooting a triple header. So far it's been 15 with at least 2-4 more to go, and it's only 1pm. However, I am actually getting things exported and delivered in between all the connecting!
