DJ Ella Giastic — from conception to creation. ⚡️

When Jane Schoenbrun said “Mohawk,” I got very excited.

Swipe to the end to see the very first Mohawk prototype ➡️ There was a LOT of trial and error that went into building this custom Hero + Stunt piece.

The first challenge: how do we get this thing to stay UP while keeping it lightweight enough for application?

The second: how do we build a stunt version that can withstand multiple resets without losing its shape?

And then… bald cap + installation, handled by the incredible team at Amazing Ape 🖤

Last summer, I embarked on a journey that would become one of the most meaningful experiences of my career.

As the Hair Designer for Camp Miasma, I had the opportunity to help bring an incredible story to life alongside an immensely talented cast and crew. But beyond the work itself, this project gave me something I hadn’t experienced often before: a true sense of belonging.

For one of the first times in my career, I felt completely at home on set—able to show up as my authentic q***r self, surrounded by people who celebrated creativity, individuality, and community.

As Pride Month begins, sharing this trailer feels especially meaningful. It’s a reminder of the power of representation, the importance of safe and inclusive spaces, and the magic that can happen when people are free to be exactly who they are.

So grateful for this experience, the people I met along the way, and everyone who trusted me with the hair design for this beautiful project. 🌈✨

Here’s to q***r joy, storytelling, and the communities that make us feel at home.

Lastly Thank you for trusting me with your vision 🖤
