March in Alberta. It can be... unpredictable, to say the least. We were expecting sun and warm (for Alberta in March) weather and instead we got heavy, wet snow that turned to slush on the roads and parking lots.

You don't always get the weather you ordered for your wedding day. And this was no exception. You don't get to choose the conditions on that day. Just hope it works out.

For me, I just work with what I've got and try to make beautiful images and tell a great story with those images. For this day, the weather was part of their story and didn't ruin it. Just moved right into it as we were heading out to take portraits.

Ceremony was inside. Then we moved to The Station for a couple quick photos. Then over to Origins for some fantastic portraits.

And thank you to Origins for allowing us to shoot there on this day and to make memories where they've made memories for quite a few years already. Including their first date.

After, we headed back for the reception and the Travelodge in Strathmore did a beautiful job setting up the room where first dances with each other and parents were had.

Thank you for including us in your day!

Moments like this are exactly what make Decimate Metalfest what it is. Real energy. Real intensity. Real connection.

Tatara brought absolute lift-off to the stage in 2024, and the room felt every second of it.

That kind of energy sticks with you.

Every year performers show up ready to give it everything they’ve got, and 2026 is already shaping up to be no exception.

What are your unforgettable festival moments?

This, right here, is why I love wedding photography and videography. Real emotions. Real connection. Moments that don't need to be staged. Don't need to be prompted or posed. I'm on the constant look out for these moments and emotions.

Some favourite photos from a wedding we captured last year. The emotions are the reason I keep shooting these. I love seeing all the different emotions. I've always got 2 photographers at every wedding to ensure that I capture as many of these moments as we possibly can.

So you never have to forget them.

Finding out tonight of the passing of Adrienne Mahoney. I only met Adrienne once — summer 2024 at — but that was all it took to understand the kind of impact she had on the people around her.

Not a typical post from me. But one of the sad, yet beautiful things about being a photographer is we have the utmost privilege of being able to capture the essence of someone and preserve their existence in our art.

Photographing her on stage was an experience I won't forget. She didn’t just play bass... she poured herself into it. She was full of energy. Had the best faces. And truly loved being on stage. There was this contagious energy about her that elevated everyone in the room. You couldn’t help but feel it.

After the set, I had the privilege of chatting with her backstage. It was brief, but she had this rare presence that made you feel grounded and seen. Genuine, warm, real. She had this ability, I feel anyway, to absolutely lift everyone around her. I walked away thinking the world was better for having someone like her in it.

Hearing of her passing is really sad to hear of someone of her kindness, uplifting attitude and ability. Sometimes one moment with someone is enough to leave a lasting mark. My heart is with her family, her friends, and the entire community that loved her.

Thank you, Adrienne, for the light you brought into every space you walked into. I’m grateful our paths crossed.
