A little full circle moment ✨

When I first moved to Calgary in 2010, I lived in a tiny apartment not far from Elliston Park. Every summer I’d walk over to GlobalFest with my camera and use the fireworks as an excuse to practice my night photography, learning long exposures and figuring out how to photograph light after dark.

16 years later, I found myself back at GlobalFest with my camera, this time shooting for Spruce Meadows / Liberty Entertainment Group

So grateful to have been there, and to still be photographing Calgary nights all these years later. ✨🎆

Pond full of LOVE 🧡

I don’t think I’ll remember the lanterns as much as I’ll remember what was written on them.

Walking around the pond at Spruce Meadows tonight I kept stopping to read messages on all the lanterns to loved ones, wishes for new beginnings, little love notes, prayers and memories.

By the end of the night all I could think about was how many hopes and messages of love were floating together under that beautiful moon we got.

What a special night. 1000’s of lanterns are pretty magical.
