Kicking-off the new year by sharing a super fun commission I wrapped up in December.
This piece was made for a wonderful and long-time friendāa ceramic re-creation of a well-loved Tropicana plastic jug, gifted to his partner. She had been using the original jug as a planter for her spider plant, so the goal was to replicate it just as it existed: distressed patina, familiar markings, and all.
This commission taught me so much, especially how fun (and challenging) hand-building sculptural forms can be. I am feeling really grateful for the chance to experiment and excited to invest more time in sculptural work moving forward! š±
