The commitment shown by the volunteers of PARA Marine Search & Rescue and their first responder partners Durham Regional Police Service, Royal Canadian Air Force, and Ajax Fire and Emergency Services is truly inspiring. Countless hours are devoted to training and preparedness so they are ready to save lives, protect boaters, and help keep our communities safe when emergencies happen on the water. 🚔🔥🛥️

I’ve had the opportunity to film these search and rescue training exercises across Durham Region and Lake Ontario, witnessing the professionalism, teamwork, and coordination required to respond when people need help most.

Well, Nic has done it again!! 🎥✨

Our student videographer, Nic from Lowhoklah Productions, created the most incredible recap video from last week’s Tri-Township Networking Extravaganza at Mill Run Golf Club… and honestly, it gave me goosebumps all over again.

Around 200 people filled that room. Businesses from Scugog, Uxbridge, and Brock showed up, connected, laughed, shared stories, supported each other, and proved once again that North Durham is FULL of heart, hustle, and community spirit. 💛

And now it’s all captured in one beautiful video.

WOWWWWWWW. 🥹👏

Wednesday’s Tri-Township Networking Extravaganza left me feeling incredibly proud, grateful, and honestly a little overwhelmed… in the very best way.

What started as a simple office conversation turned into something truly special.

No giant budget.
No elaborate master plan.
Just an idea, a belief that our communities could come together in a meaningful way, and the support of some incredibly generous sponsors who said, “YES, let’s do this.” 🙌

And holy smokes… did you ever show up.

Nearly 200 people filled the room.
35 vendors brought their businesses, their passion, and their stories.
And the energy? Absolutely electric from start to finish. ⚡

There were genuine conversations, new connections, big laughs, business cards flying, ideas sparking, and that unmistakable feeling you get when something important is happening right in front of you.

Seeing such strong representation from Scugog, Uxbridge, and Brock meant so much.

Our municipal leaders were there.
Our Board of Trade partners were there.
Our Durham Region colleagues were there.
Our business community was there.

And together, it was such a powerful reminder that we are all working toward something much bigger than ourselves. 💙

What struck me most was the unity.

Different townships.
Different organizations.
Different perspectives.
All in one room, building relationships and supporting one another.

This event wasn’t just successful.

It felt like a turning point.

It showed what is possible when we stop thinking in silos and start building together. It showed that North Durham is ready for more connection, more collaboration, and more shared momentum.

We are stronger together, and the Tri-Township Networking Extravaganza made that clearer than ever. 🫶
