One night on Glover’s Reef.

By day, we dove through some of the most
incredible reef structures Belize has to offer.
Coral towers, endless blue, life everywhere.
Above water? A harder truth.
Trash on the shoreline.
Sargassum we couldn’t ignore.

Belize is wild. Belize is beautiful.
But Belize needs protecting.

Sambai

As the sun sets over Gales Point on December 25th and 26th, the daytime Bram revelry transitions into the nighttime Sambai celebration. Participants dance around a bonfire to the pulse of drums and traditional song. Each dancer is chosen by the one before them, with some circling the fire while others bravely dance through the flames, moving in rhythm and ritual. The night concludes with all participants joining together in a powerful circle dance around the fire.

The Sambai is a living expression of ancestry, storytelling, and communal celebration.

Christmas Bram

Held annually on December 25th and 26th, the Bram is a daytime celebration deeply rooted in African heritage. In Gales Point, residents sing and dance in a rhythmic call-and-response tradition, moving from home to home throughout the village. Along the way, households offer food and drink, welcoming the roaming revelers with open arms.

The Christmas Bram is a living expression of ancestry, storytelling, and communal celebration.
