n Loving Memory of Bonolo Bathoen Gaseitsiwe
(19 July 1935 – 30 September 2026)
It is with deep sorrow that the family of the late Bonolo Bathoen Gaseitsiwe announce her peaceful passing on 30 September 2026.
Born on 19 July 1935, Bonolo was one of the daughters of the late Kgosi Bathoen II (Bathoen Seepapitso Gaseitsiwe, 1908–1990), the distinguished Bangwaketse chief, politician and jurist of Botswana, and his first wife, Mme Mmafane Ester Ketimetse Gaseitsiwe (a daughter of the Barolong of Thaba Nchu, who passed away in October 1966). Together the couple were blessed with five children: two sons, Seepapitso IV (who later succeeded as Kgosi) and Seatla, and three daughters — Bonolo, Bonno and Bontleeng.
A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mme Bonolo lived a long life of quiet dignity, rooted in the traditions and values of the Bangwaketse people of Kanye. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by her family, relatives and the wider community for the care, wisdom and steadfast presence she offered across generations.
