It finally bloomed. 💜

A month or two ago, this was just a little twig sitting in water.

It kept shedding leaves, but never produced a flower. I remember wondering why it was still being kept.

Then today, I looked at it again.

And there it was.

A little purple flower.

Funny how sometimes you can look at something for weeks and think nothing is happening, only to look again one day and realise you were simply looking too soon.

I almost walked past it.

I'm glad I didn't.

I almost walked past this.

It was just a small patch of green surrounded by dry, cracked earth.

But the longer I looked, the more it felt familiar.

Life has a way of surrounding us with uncertainty, disappointments and seasons that leave us feeling drained.

The day I captured these moments at Gaborone Dam, I stood there speechless.

The sound of the water.
The clouds resting perfectly over the mountains.
The stillness.
The peace.
