“Photographing is a pretext to find myself in others” said Graciela Iturbide and it is in this way that I present this photographic work paying tribute to the different expressions of dance and traditional music native to the Bolivian Andes.
The Chakana is an important symbol in the worldview of the cultures originating from the Andes. Its shape, which suggests a pyramid with stairs on all four sides, would also have a higher meaning, in the sense of signaling the union between the Manqha Pacha (the inner world, the underground world) and Alax Pacha (the known superior energy). , Kawki-pacha (the unknown, the invisible) and the Aka-Pacha (the world in which we live). There was no better symbol than the chakana to be able to make this photo montage.
My gaze, my sensitivity make me an artist, acting in a world of artistic, spiritual and cultural diversities.
My photography does not only belong to the informative, political or purely aesthetic sphere, it also affects our identity, our common memory that caresses the universal idea, a soft, exciting and mysterious universe.

“Fotografiar es un pretexto para encontrarme en los otros” decía Graciela Iturbide y es de esa forma que presento esta obra fotográfica rindiendo homenaje a las diferentes expresiones de danza y música tradicional autóctona de los andes bolivianos.
La Chakana es un símbolo importante en la cosmovisión de las culturas originarias de los andes. Su forma, que sugiere una pirámide con escaleras a los cuatro costados, poseería también un significado más elevado, en el sentido de señalar la unión entre el Manqha Pacha ( el mundo interior, el mundo subterráneo) y Alax Pacha (La energía superior conocida), Kawki-pacha (lo desconocido, lo invisible) y el Aka-Pacha (el mundo en que vivimos). No había mejor símbolo que la chakana para poder hacer este montaje fotográfico.
Mi mirada, mi sensibilidad hacen de mí, un artista, actuando en un mundo de diversidades artísticas, espirituales y culturales.
Mi fotografía no pertenece solamente a la esfera informativa, política o puramente estética, también afecta nuestra identidad, nuestra memoria común que acaricia la idea universal, un universo suave, emocionante
