…dit soort fotografie en poses waren helemaal niet gepland. En eigenlijk is het ook niet mijn doel om tijdens een shoot te focussen op ‘het uiterlijke’. Wat mij raakt is iemand zien veranderen voor mijn lens. De zelfzekerheid die groeit, de durf die naar boven komt, iemand die zich steeds meer durft te laten zien en helemaal openbloeit. 💃🏻 Dát is waar mijn Women’s Empowerment fotoshoots om draaien, niet perfect zijn, maar jezelf steeds meer durven laten zien... 🤍 Enne…we zitten hier niet aan de Paalse Plas hé 😛 • Un grand merci Anny Einna 👏🏻🩵☺️ • 🏝️

…finally able to share my beginning here in France as a photographer 📸 (May/June), working as a tourist/portrait photographer at two places: Prairies de la Mer with Christophe in Port-Grimaud, and with one of the most professional studios here, Arthur Photo in Sainte-Maxime, which I’m very grateful for 🙏🏻🇫🇷

However, it was all short, but long enough to see that this was totally not my kind of photography style or working style. But I must say… this was one of the hardest things I have ever done as a photographer, and I have so much respect for everyone doing this!

It all seems easy, but oh boy… this was heavy 💩😅 You have to get to know everyone, talk to them, use special techniques to capture these moments, while not forgetting the heat, the wind, being careful with the water, and the long working hours…

But I’ve met people from England, Australia, Turkey, Italy, and of course France. I’m very grateful for taking these first steps towards a beautiful adventure.

👥 I also had another series of pictures with only couples, but unfortunately, they were deleted.

🇫🇷🩵 Every experience teaches us something. This one taught me a lot and became an important step in my journey as a photographer. I’m grateful for every lesson along the way. ✨📸

De buitenexpo op be-MINE is officieel geopend! 🥳📸
Zelf kon ik er 'fysiek' niet bij zijn, maar ik heb de opening vanop afstand kunnen meevolgen via een videocall. Met deze expo sluit ik ook mijn periode als stadsfotograaf af. 🙏🏻Het was een bijzonder mooi initiatief van Stad Beringen, waar ik met veel dankbaarheid op terugkijk. 🙏🏻 Voor mij draaide het echter nooit om zelf in de kijker te staan; de echte essentie lag in de verhalen achter de foto's. Ik probeer met mijn fotografie altijd een bepaalde betekenis en diepgang mee te geven. Dat lukt niet in elke opdracht, maar als stadsfotograaf kreeg ik die kans wel. 👏🏻🙏🏻

Ik bezocht plaatsen, organisaties en mensen die op hun eigen manier zorgen voor verbondenheid. Mensen die anderen samenbrengen, ondersteunen, inspireren of gewoon een warm gevoel geven! Dat was de rode draad doorheen mijn werk, en precies dat wilde ik zichtbaar maken.

…a goodbye to these kind of photography here in the ! 🙏🏻Every experience teaches us something, even if it wasn’t meant to last! 📍Over the past few weeks, I said goodbye to my work as a beach and family photographer! First at Prairies de la Mer in Port Grimaud, and later at Arthur Photo in Sainte-Maxime. 🙈😅
I’m truly grateful for the experience and everything I learned along the way…🙏🏻 but I also realized it wasn’t the kind of photography that truly resonates with me 🙃 Everything had to happen so fast, while I love creating genuine connections and capturing authentic portraits with meaning…

Sometimes, you have to let go of something good to make room for something that feels right.

A new portrait project 💛has recently crossed my path, and I’m hopeful this is a step closer to the work I truly want to build here in the South of France.

The right path isn’t always the easiest one, but it’s the one that feels like home.
