X70 Generation Toyota Cressida wagon seized and rotting away under Banani Thana. This wagon variant stayed in production till 1997. Basically this was the Mark 2 wagon before the Blit variant came out. Haven’t seen any in running condition in BD yet. Added is a picture of the car if it were in its OEM and new condition.

Finally, let’s take a look at most of the SUV’s that were either seized or used by the government at some point in time and later on got scrapped. Mind you most of these are in very much saveable condition.
1. Range Rover L322 facelift, the one is good condition with the air suspension failed. (Model Year between 2010-2012) Interesting thing about these models were that some of the variants actually came with ZF 8HP70 transmission, a derivative of the 8HP family)
2. Land Rover Discovery Series II L318 (Also in good condition) (Model Year between 1998-2004)
3. Range Rover P38A (The one that looks to be in benson shade and missing headlights but otherwise frame looks solid). Model year 1994-2001
4. Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon (L316). It’s the one with the exoskeleton and roof rack with the diplomatic yellow number plate. Estimated model year between 1990 to 2006.
5. Land Rover Defender 90/110 (L316). The one in arguably the worst shape out of the two defenders.
6. Land Rover Discovery 1 (1st Generation). Estimated model year between 1989 to 1998. You’d easily miss spotting this car as it’s hidden behind a large blue 40’ft container. Car looks to be in bad shape but nothing that can’t be revived.
7. Toyota Hilux Surf (N130). Of its second generation, this seemingly tree carrier (not that it can’t tow a full sized tree) is one of only three two Toyota SUV’s in the lot. There’s a third Toyota but it’s an older gen Harrier and I don’t count that car as an SUV.
8. Lastly the seemingly in greatest shape of all the SUV’s, the white Toyota Land Cruiser 100 series (FZJ100) Pre facelift.

Now, if you had the ability to buy any of one of these cars from auction and restore and keep forever, which one would it be?

Bedford Medium Duty Water Tanker rusting away. This actually still looks salvageable.

Brief history:
White Bedford trucks like the J5/J6 used to be imported into East Pakistan back in the 60’s for various government use. Majority were either water tankers, fire tenders or used for road maintenance by the Municipal government. Sadly Bedford UK went bust in 1998 and since then these these beauties slowly started to disappear from our roads. I still believe there are quite a few still being used as open carry vans but not in its original state.
