ওর জন্মের পর 18 ঘন্টা আমি জেগে ছিলাম।
চোখে ঘুম নাই। শরীরে শক্তি নাই।

নার্স বাচ্চাটাকে কোলে দিয়ে বললো, "আপনার ছেলে ম্যাম"

আমি ভয়ে ধরতে পারতেছিলাম না।
এত ছোট! এত নরম! ভেঙে যাবে না তো?

আমার আঙুলটা ওর হাতের কাছে নিতেই...
ও ছোট্ট মুঠো দিয়ে আঙুলটা আঁকড়ে ধরলো।

ওই একটা মুহূর্ত।
দুনিয়ার সব কষ্ট, সব যন্ত্রণা শেষ।

তারপর যেদিন প্রথম "মা" বলে ডাকলো...
আমি কাঁদতে কাঁদতে সেজদায় পড়ে গেছিলাম।

টাকা-পয়সা, নাম-ডাক, সফলতা...
সব তুচ্ছ লাগে ।

এই ছোট্ট হাতটার মুঠোর চেয়ে দামি কিছু নাই দুনিয়ায়।

যারা মা-বাবা আছেন, বলেন তো...
